About us
(continued)
We have worked with schools and youth groups on many occasions - providing workshops on drumming (and dance in association with a professional teacher). Unfortunately weekday events are rarely possible now as most of our members are in full-time employment or education.
For a number of years the band has contributed part of their money to their charity, especially the Francisco Rojas School in Arequipa, Peru.
Bookings and Gigs
To book Streetheat please see our ‘contacts’ page.
We normally play for between 60 and 90 minutes, split into 2 or 3 sets. We have several different colourful costumes
All the players volunteer to play gigs and are only paid basic expenses. For charitable gigs we will often play for expenses only (but remember the band is quite big). Commercial gigs are competitively priced to help cover the bands other costs (practice venues, instruments etc) as well as helping to support our chosen charities.
We rely on the band members to volunteer for gigs but we will never accept a gig if we cannot field a strong band, with a balance of instruments, and experienced leaders, to give that Streetheat impact. You will normally need to book well in advance for gigs from May to September
