Want to join us?

Every year we look for new recruits and enjoy introducing them to this noisy and energetic music, and in the process become part of this friendly group.

Unless you have played in a samba band previously we normally recommend that you join in our annual series of ‘new member’s workshops’.

We will advise and lend you an instrument, show you the basic rhythms, the breaks, the whistle calls, the hand signals, and the choreography.

If you show promise we will invite you to become a member of the band and join us in our normal weekly practice sessions.

When you look and feel ready we will involve you in performances, give you advice on creating your own set of costumes, and give you an instrument on long loan if you do not wish to buy your own.

There is a small membership fee but we subsidise costs from our gig fees to keep these affordable for everyone. Interested? Please talk to the ‘New Members’ Secretary on our Contacts page.
