Bringing the Sounds of Samba to the South West!

October update

Date published: Tuesday 11 October 2016 at 16:31

As a result of our recent survey responses, we are aiming to update the website more frequently in the future.

So what’s been happening over the past few months?

1. The band held an EGM to discuss the future of the band and we aim to make some changes going into the future. This involved how we communicate with the public like yourselves and adding some more instruments into the band.

2. We have another leader in the making! Caitlin, who has just started her A levels, began leading the band in September and she’s done well so far.

3. More gigs than usual have come through for the winter season and these are currently in the signing up process.

4. We are nearing another AGM marking the end of a successful 25th year. This is an opportunity to reflect of the substantial contributions people have made this year and how we can better the band next year. There are many items on the agenda and all of which will benefit you if they are carried through.

5. We are sad to say that Emilie has left the band after 2 years with us. Emilie married her fiancé this summer and they have relocated away from Exeter.

6. We’ve had some new members!  These people have been in samba bands previously and have picked up our pieces really well.
