25th Birthday Bash

Date published: Monday 15 August 2016 at 22:29

We had the most amazing time over the weekend of 20th May which marked our 25th birthday. The weekend was attended by plenty of enthusiastic samba bands from across the south west. We all enjoyed the fabulous talents of Mestre Fred Taruka from the London School of Samba who taught us the infamous Saco de Porco and to the wonderful Emma Skilton from Truro School of Samba for her dance workshops.

Thank you to everyone who came along and to the two great bands who played for us – The Woo Town Hillbillies and Datura. One comment that we received afterwards sums up the event:

“A weekend to remember. So many new samba friends and plans for more gatherings in the future. Thanks for a great party!”  Roll on the next 25 years!
